Translation from Polish and to Polish

Contents

The Polish language, despite seeming simple for Slavs, is quite challenging in terms of translation into Polish. Numerous grammatical nuances and unique expressions can pose a serious test even for an experienced translator. Not to mention potential mistakes, which not only distort the content but can also result in the rejection of documents. Turning to professionals helps to avoid such issues. At Etalon Translation Agency, we offer high-quality translation from Polish to Russian and other languages, working on each project comprehensively and with expertise.

What to Know When Working with Polish

Translating from Russian to Polish requires attention to numerous nuances, from grammar to stylistic features. The language is known for its complex case system and unique grammatical forms. Additionally, it includes specific words and expressions that do not always have equivalents in other languages. This is why careful word choice and sentence structure are so essential when translating into Polish, helping to preserve the original meaning and tone of the text.

When translating documents into Polish, it’s also important to consider the cultural and historical aspects of the language. Many legal terms and business expressions have their own specificity, requiring accurate representation to maintain context. Together, all this makes translation into Polish a complex and responsible process, requiring qualified specialists capable of successfully handling even the most challenging and unconventional tasks.

Documents Our Team Translates

We are ready to handle document translation from Polish to Ukrainian in various fields, with the following being the most common:

Supplementing Translation with Apostille and Notarization

When translating a diploma, we offer apostille and notarization services. An apostille certifies the authenticity of the document for use in another country, which is especially important for legal and personal documents submitted to Polish authorities, ensuring that the Polish to Russian translation will be recognized internationally.

We are also prepared to perform a notarized translation of a power of attorney, confirming that it was completed by a qualified specialist and corresponds to the original. This stage is particularly relevant for documents subject to legalization or submission to government institutions. Regardless of the specifics of the request, we guarantee that any translation from Polish to Ukrainian will be appropriately formatted.

Timing and Cost of Translation - Key Aspects

The time required for a Polish-Ukrainian translation depends on the volume, complexity of the text, and its subject matter. Specialized documents, such as legal or medical ones, take more time to ensure full terminological accuracy and all related nuances. If a Polish to Ukrainian translation is needed urgently, it can be completed on the same day, adhering fully to current standards and requirements.

Pricing for document translation from Ukrainian to Polish is calculated based on their specifics and urgency. Specialized texts require the involvement of narrowly focused translators, whose services are more expensive. An additional fee is required for urgent translation from Ukrainian to Polish, as it involves multiple staff members, as does certified translation, about which we always inform our clients.

FAQ: translations for Poland

Will Poland accept a translation done in Ukraine?

Polish authorities usually require a translation by a sworn translator (tłumacz przysięgły) in Poland – Ukraine has no institution of a “sworn” translator, and a Ukrainian notary only certifies the translator’s signature. So we prepare your document for Poland: translation and notarisation in Ukraine, apostille, and where needed we coordinate the sworn translation in Poland – all remotely.

Which documents are needed for the residence card (Karta Pobytu)?

For a Karta Pobytu you usually submit birth and marriage certificates, a criminal-record extract and documents about your work or studies – apostilled and with a sworn Polish translation. The apostille on Ukrainian documents is placed by the relevant ministry: the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) for education documents, the Ministry of Justice for notarial and civil-registry papers, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the criminal-record extract. We assemble the set, obtain the apostille and prepare the translations remotely.

How do I get a Ukrainian diploma recognised in Poland (nostrification)?

Recognition by a Polish university happens either under the university’s own procedure or via a recognition statement from NAWA (potwierdzenie). Both require an apostilled diploma with its supplement and a sworn Polish translation. We prepare the Ukrainian part – the Ministry of Education apostille and the translation; the recognition decision rests with the Polish institution, and we make no promises about it.

When are you open?

All three offices — Kharkiv, Kyiv and Bratislava — are open Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. Each keeps its own local time, and Bratislava (Central European time) is an hour behind the two Ukrainian offices, so allow for that difference if you're calling from abroad.

Do I need to come to the office?

You don't need to visit us in person. Send scans of your documents by e-mail and we'll quote the price and turnaround; some services need the original, which then travels by courier or post instead of you. We return the finished document the same way — by post, or as a signed electronic file where the receiving authority accepts it.

Can I get the translation the same day?

It depends on which office handles your order. In Kharkiv and Kyiv a standard document can often be ready the same day if you send the scan early and choose the express option, which may cost extra — we confirm this when we quote. In Slovakia the timings are different: a sworn translation of a standard document usually takes up to 2–3 working days, express by arrangement, and what you receive the same day there is the quote rather than the finished translation. Larger or more complex jobs, and services that involve a state authority, take longer in either country.
