Document translation in Kryvyi Rih: which language it is needed in
The language you speak and the language the document is filled out in are two different things, and neither decides the language of the translation. That is decided by whoever accepts the document: a Ukrainian authority needs Ukrainian text, a foreign one needs its own. So a certificate filled out in Russian is translated for filing in Ukraine too, and that is ordinary work rather than a special case.
- We speak with you in whichever language suits you, and produce the document in the one the authority requires
- A document filled out in Russian is translated into Ukrainian for filing in Ukraine
- A Russian translation makes sense only where a recipient abroad accepts it
- In Kryvyi Rih you can file in your own district: the «Viza» service centre has branches across the city
The «Viza» administrative service centre works from its main office at 1 Molodizhna Square and from territorial branches in every district — in Kryvyi Rih you can file close to home.
Who chooses the language
The recipient does, and this is the one rule with no exceptions. A Ukrainian authority — a registry office, an administrative service centre, the pension fund, a notary, a court — works with Ukrainian text. A foreign authority requires its own state language. Neither your language of conversation nor the language of the original takes part in that decision.
Hence the answer to this city's most frequent question: if the document is filled out in Russian and has to be filed in Ukraine, a translation is still needed — into Ukrainian. It is neither pedantry nor a novelty: the authority is obliged to work in the state language, and the translation is what makes the document usable in its procedure.
| Language of the document | Where you file | What is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Russian | a Ukrainian authority | translation into Ukrainian |
| Ukrainian | a Ukrainian authority | no translation needed |
| Ukrainian or Russian | a foreign authority | translation into that country's language |
| A foreign language | a Ukrainian authority | translation into Ukrainian |
Documents filled out in Russian: what they usually are
Most often they are papers issued before 1991: birth and marriage certificates, employment record books, diplomas. The form itself may have been bilingual while the hand-written fields were completed in Russian — and it is those fields that carry what the authority needs: names, dates, titles.
They translate in the ordinary way, with one particularity: names taken from such documents have to be reconciled with the way they are written in your current papers. We settle that before the work, so that the translation and the passport carry one form of the name rather than two.
Translation into Russian: when it is genuinely needed
Such work exists, but the reason for it is a different one: a Russian translation is needed where a foreign recipient accepts it — an authority in a country where Russian remains a working language of official paperwork, for instance. That is the recipient's decision, not the applicant's convenience.
For filing inside Ukraine a Russian translation will not help: the authority will not accept it, because the procedure is conducted in Ukrainian. We say so straight away, so that nobody ends up paying for a translation that cannot be filed.
Kryvyi Rih: where to file and who serves the city
Apostilles on Justice-category documents are handled for this city by the interregional Ministry of Justice office based in Dnipro, but there is no need to travel: district registry offices operate inside Kryvyi Rih, and since February 2026 a document can be filed through Diia or at any notary.
Administrative services in the city are run by the «Viza» centre — the main office at 1 Molodizhna Square and territorial branches in every district. For a city this is an unusually developed network, and it means you can file close to home. The translation is not tied to any address at all: we work from photographs and send the finished set by Nova Poshta.

FAQ
How much does document translation cost in Kryvyi Rih?
A standard document starts at UAH 150 and a translation with notarial certification at UAH 250. Employment record books, certificates and extracts are priced by volume.
The document is in Russian and I file in Ukraine. Is a translation needed?
Yes, into Ukrainian. A Ukrainian authority conducts its procedure in the state language, so the translation is what makes the document fit to file. It is priced as an ordinary document.
What if I want a translation into Russian?
That work exists, but it only makes sense where the recipient themselves accepts Russian text — usually an authority abroad. For filing in Ukraine it will not do.
Which language do you speak with customers?
Whichever suits you. The language of conversation has no bearing on the language of the document: that is set by the authority you file with.
Do I have to travel to Dnipro if the Justice department is there?
No. What goes to Dnipro is the jurisdiction, not you: the document can be filed wherever suits you, and from there it moves without your involvement.
