The apostille is already on the original – this is the second step: translating both the document and the apostille stamp into the destination country's language, together. Usually this is a notarized translation: we translate the full text with its apostille, and a notary certifies the authenticity of the translator's signature (not the content). Some countries (Italy, Spain) require a double apostille – a second one on the finished translation. Why the apostille stamp is translated too
The apostille is placed on the original, and it only confirms the document's authenticity – it is not a translation. The receiving authority abroad must read the whole package in its own language, so both the document text and the apostille stamp are translated: every field, the issuing authority, the date, the number. If you translate only the document and leave the apostille in Ukrainian, the translation may be rejected as incomplete. That is why the correct second step after the apostille is a notarized translation of the document together with the stamp as one whole. We do exactly that, so the package is ready for submission with no rework.
Double apostille: when the second stamp goes on the translation
In most cases a single apostille – on the original – plus a notarized translation including the stamp is enough. But some countries (primarily Italy and Spain) require a double apostille: the first on the original, the second on the finished notarized translation. These are separate procedures, and the requirements depend on the destination country and the authority you submit to. We don't promise a guaranteed outcome on another body's behalf, but we'll advise the most likely order for your country, so you don't overpay for an extra apostille where it isn't needed and aren't refused where it's mandatory.
When an apostille and translation aren't needed at all
Ukraine has legal-assistance treaties with a number of countries (Poland, Czechia, Moldova and CIS states): for them no apostille or legalization is required – a notarized translation is enough. For countries outside the Hague Convention, the apostille doesn't apply at all – there it's consular legalization. But if your document already has an apostille and is headed to a Hague country (Canada since 2024, mainland China since 2023), this is exactly the right step: translating the document together with the stamp. Before quoting, we confirm the country and document type so we don't add an unnecessary stage.

Do I need to translate the apostille stamp itself, or just the document?
Everything is translated together – both the document text and the apostille stamp (fields, authority, date, number). If the apostille is left in Ukrainian, the receiving authority may reject the translation as incomplete. So we translate the document with the stamp as a single package.
What is a double apostille and which countries need it?
It's when a second apostille is required on the finished notarized translation, in addition to the apostille on the original. It's most often required by Italy and Spain. Requirements depend on the country and the submitting authority, so we confirm them in advance for your case.
How much does translating an apostilled document cost?

Do I need the original, or is a scan of the apostilled document enough?

What if the document is going to Poland or Czechia – is an apostille needed?
No. With Poland, Czechia, Moldova and CIS countries a legal-assistance treaty applies: no apostille is needed, a notarized translation is enough. We'll tell you whether your country is on that list before quoting.
