Document translation in Lutsk: counting back from your appointment
Once an appointment is booked, the work is planned backwards from the date rather than «as fast as possible». The chain has four links: obtaining the documents, the apostille where one is required, translation and certification, and a final check. Two of them depend on somebody else's schedule, which is why they go first.
- Planning starts from the appointment date, not from the order date
- Two links depend on someone else's schedule: the authority and the notary
- Keep one working day in reserve to check the finished package
- Moving an appointment is usually harder than speeding up a translation
The regional civil-registry office in Lutsk works at 67 Vynnychenka Street, offices 508 and 513, and the administrative service centre at 35 Lesi Ukrainky Street, 18 Sobornosti Street and 53 Kovelska Street.
Four links and what each one takes
The first link is obtaining every document, including those you do not hold: a duplicate certificate, a letter, an extract. The second is the apostille or another attestation where required: that link belongs to the authority and its duration is not ours to change. The third is translation and certification: translating a standard document takes hours, but certifying the translator's signature is only possible during a notary's office hours.
The fourth link is checking the finished package, and it deserves one working day. Not because mistakes are frequent, but because a correction the day before costs one phone call, while one discovered in the queue costs the appointment.
| Link | Who it depends on | When to schedule it |
|---|---|---|
| Obtaining the documents | registry office, Diia, employer | earliest — the longest link |
| Apostille, where required | the authority | immediately after the documents |
| Translation and certification | the bureau and the notary's hours | once the document is final |
| Checking the package | you | one working day before the appointment |
Why an appointment is better kept than moved
Free slots usually appear a week or two later rather than the next day, and changing the date drags everything else with it: booked tickets, agreed leave, the validity of a certificate that may expire by the new date. So between «move the appointment» and «replan the documents», the second is almost always cheaper.
Hence a simple conclusion: if time is short, give us the appointment date straight away. We will look at the four links and say plainly whether we make it and where out-of-queue work is needed. You hear «we do not make it» before payment, not after.
What can run in parallel
Translating documents that are already final need not wait: it runs while you collect the rest. Obtaining a certificate through Diia runs in parallel with translating the certificates you already hold.
What cannot run in parallel is translating a document that will then go for an apostille: the stamp appears after the translation and stays uncovered. That is the one rigid sequence in the chain, and it is what most often breaks the plans of people trying to save a day.
Lutsk: where to collect documents and where to file them
Civil-status records in the city are kept by the local registry offices — among them the oblast office at 67 Vynnychenka Street, rooms 508 and 513; the department they belong to sits in Lviv, at 1 Shashkevycha Square. For you that means a duplicate certificate is obtained in Lutsk rather than in the regional centre of another oblast.
Administrative services are handled by the administrative service centre: the head office at 35 Lesi Ukrainky Street, with branches at 18 Sobornosti Street and 53 Kovelska Street. A translation is not handed in to the centre — it is attached to the document at filing, so it can be ordered on the same day you go for a certificate.
How we work
- 1Give us the appointment dateWe build the plan backwards from it and say whether we make it without rush work. Send a photo of the documents and we quote from it.
- 2Start with the long linksDocuments and the apostille first — whatever depends on someone else's schedule.
- 3Translation of the final documentWe translate the document that will not change again, stamp included.
- 4A day to checkWe leave a working day before the appointment: a correction made early costs a call.
Prices
- Standard document certificate, passport, diplomafrom UAH 150
- Translation with notarial certification per documentfrom UAH 250
- Certificate, extract, contract priced per documentby volume
Prices are starting figures: the total depends on language, volume and deadline. Out-of-queue work is priced separately and offered only when it genuinely settles the matter.
FAQ
How much does document translation cost in Lutsk?
A standard document starts at UAH 150 and a translation with notarial certification at UAH 250. Certificates, extracts and contracts are priced by volume.
My appointment is in three days. Can you make it?
It depends on what is left in the chain. Translating a standard document is hours, but notarial certification is only possible during office hours and an apostille runs on the authority's own clock. Give us the date and we will say plainly.
Which comes first — the translation or the apostille?
The apostille. The translation is made from the final document so that it covers both the text and the stamp.
Should I move the appointment if I am running late?
Usually not: a free slot appears a week or two later and moving the date drags tickets, leave and certificate validity with it. Replanning the documents is cheaper.
Can I order a translation without visiting an office?
Yes, photographs are enough for the quote and for the work. The original is needed only where the translation is bound to it; we send the finished package by Nova Poshta or hand it over in person.
