How it works without a Lviv office
Etalon has no physical branch in Lviv, so the whole process is remote and transparent. You photograph or scan your diploma and transcript and send them via Telegram, Viber or WhatsApp - we quote the price and turnaround from the scans the same day.
Once confirmed, we complete the translation, certify it by notary or sworn translator stamp if needed, and ship the finished package by Nova Poshta to any branch or parcel locker in Lviv. If the apostille requires originals, you send them by Nova Poshta to our office, we submit the documents to the Ministry of Education and Science in Kyiv, and we return the result the same way.
Diploma and transcript translation
A diploma without its transcript is almost always incomplete for serious purposes: the transcript lists subjects, hours and grades that universities and recognition bodies need. That is why we always recommend translating diploma and transcript together - it is cheaper as a package and prevents rejections over an incomplete set.
For graduates of Lviv universities - Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University (which hosts many foreign students) - we accurately render program, qualification and department names into Polish or English terminology, align the surname transliteration with your international passport, and keep the spelling consistent across every document in the package.
Sworn Polish translation for Polish universities
Polish universities and the NAWA body generally require sworn translation (tlumaczenie przysiegle) - a translation made and certified by a sworn translator. A translation produced in Ukraine and certified only by a Ukrainian notary is often not accepted by Polish institutions.
Etalon performs sworn Polish translation with its own certified translators - this is our own service, not work through a partner. We note honestly that a Polish sworn translator (tlumacz przysiegly) is registered with the Polish Ministry of Justice, and we are not a Polish bureau from that register. Even so, we provide sworn translation suited to the Polish corridor: nostrification, admission, employment and submissions to Polish institutions. Final acceptance for any given purpose is always decided by the receiving institution.
Ministry of Education and Science apostille and nostrification for Poland/EU
For Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany and other EU countries, education documents usually require an apostille from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, issued in Kyiv. Note: there is no single apostille covering 'the diploma together with the transcript' - the diploma gets one apostille and the transcript a separate one. We submit both documents for apostille to the ministry in Kyiv on your behalf, so you do not need to travel to the capital.
For nostrification of a diploma in Poland you usually need: an apostille from the Ministry of Education and Science on the diploma and transcript, sworn Polish translation, an application directly to the chosen university (uczelnia), and a certificate from the NAWA system. For diplomas issued before 19 June 2006, a simplified recognition-certificate route is possible in some cases. The exact list depends on the specific university and purpose, so we verify the final requirements for your case - with no invented exemptions and no guarantee of automatic acceptance.
Two journeys: foreign graduates and moving to Poland/EU
The first journey is for foreign students who graduated from Lviv universities (including many foreign graduates of Danylo Halytsky LNMU) and need to legalize a Ukrainian diploma for work or further study back home: an apostille from the Ministry of Education and Science, translation into the required language, and preparation of a set for recognition abroad.
The second journey is for Ukrainian graduates from Lviv and the region heading to Poland or the EU: diploma and transcript translation, sworn Polish translation, apostille from the Ministry of Education and Science, and support for nostrification. Lviv is the hub of the consular district of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, which covers three western oblasts - Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia (Ternopil and Chernivtsi belong to the district of the Polish Consulate General in Vinnytsia). Regardless of the consular district, we work online and serve all of Western Ukraine remotely - Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod and Chernivtsi - because the whole process runs through messengers and Nova Poshta.

FAQ
Do you have an office in Lviv?
No. We have no physical office in Lviv and work online: you send scans via messenger and receive finished documents by Nova Poshta. Our HQ is in Kharkiv (since 2008), with one more office in Kyiv.
Do you place the apostille in Lviv itself?
The apostille on education documents is issued by the Ministry of Education and Science in Kyiv, so it is not physically stamped in Lviv. You send originals by Nova Poshta and we submit the documents for apostille to the ministry in Kyiv on your behalf and return the result.
Will Poland accept a translation certified by a Ukrainian notary?
Polish universities and NAWA usually require sworn translation (przysiegly). A translation certified only by a Ukrainian notary is often not accepted. We perform sworn Polish translation with our own translators; final acceptance is decided by the receiving institution.
Which western oblasts does the Polish consulate in Lviv serve?
The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv serves three oblasts: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia. Ternopil and Chernivtsi belong to the district of the Polish Consulate General in Vinnytsia. We, however, work online and help residents across all of Western Ukraine regardless of the consular district.
Is one apostille enough for the diploma and transcript together?
No. There is no single apostille for 'the diploma together with the transcript': the diploma gets one apostille and the transcript a separate one. Nostrification in Poland and most EU universities require both documents with separate apostilles.
What exactly is needed to nostrify a diploma in Poland?
You usually need an apostille from the Ministry of Education and Science on the diploma and transcript, sworn Polish translation, an application to the chosen university, and a certificate from the NAWA system. For diplomas before 19 June 2006 a simplified route is sometimes possible. Exact requirements depend on the university - we verify them for your case.
I am a foreign graduate of a Lviv university - can you help legalize my diploma?
Yes. For foreign graduates (including Danylo Halytsky LNMU) we arrange an apostille from the Ministry of Education and Science, translation into the required language, and prepare a set for recognition of the diploma abroad.
How long do translation and delivery to Lviv take?
Translation is usually ready in 1-2 working days, sworn Polish in 2-4 days; urgent is faster for a surcharge. Nova Poshta delivery to Lviv typically takes 1-2 days after dispatch.
