What nostrification is and which Zaporizhzhia graduates need it

Nostrification is the recognition of a foreign diploma - confirmation that your Ukrainian education matches the level accepted in the destination country. For graduates of Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU) and Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University (ZNTU) heading to a master's, doctoral programme or a job abroad, it is often the first mandatory step.

It helps to separate two processes. Document preparation in Ukraine - sworn or notarized translation and apostille - is what we do. Nostrification (recognition) itself happens abroad: the decision is made by a foreign university, the relevant authority or a national recognition body. We do not influence that decision and cannot guarantee recognition, but we can prepare the document package so that there are no formal grounds for refusal.

Poland: sworn translation by our translators

For Poland, some universities and employers accept documents through the national academic exchange agency (NAWA), while others run their own nostrification. In many cases a sworn translation into Polish (tłumaczenie przysięgłe) is required - a translation produced by a translator on the Polish Ministry of Justice list and certified with their seal.

The exact list of documents and whether a sworn translation or apostille is needed should be confirmed directly with the chosen university or authority, as requirements vary by programme and diploma issue year.

Czechia and Germany: MON apostille and translation

For Czechia, recognition (nostrifikace) usually goes through the relevant education authority at the place of study or through the university itself; many education documents need a MON apostille and a Czech translation. The process can take several months, so documents are best prepared well ahead of admission deadlines.

For Germany, recognition (Anerkennung) is mandatory for many regulated professions and is often needed for admission. The decision is made by German bodies (for example, the relevant authorities or the central ZAB). We prepare the apostille on the diploma and a German translation; exact requirements depend on the federal state and the profession, so we recommend verifying them with the receiving side.

MON apostille on the diploma: we submit for you in Kyiv

Education documents (diploma, supplement) are apostilled through the Ministry of Education and Science. Submission takes place in Kyiv - there is no separate diploma apostille point in Zaporizhzhia. We receive your documents remotely or by Nova Poshta and submit them to the Kyiv ministries on your behalf: the Ministry of Education for diplomas, and the Ministry of Justice or Ministry of Foreign Affairs for other documents where needed.

Apostille involves a state fee set by the government; it is not included in our service price. We will tell you the current fee amount and indicative timelines at the time of your request.
