Sworn translation and notarization

For use abroad, a criminal record certificate almost always needs to be translated. Depending on the receiving institution's requirements, this may be a notarized translation or a sworn translation (for example into Polish for work in Poland). Sworn translation is carried out by our own in-house sworn translators - it is our service, not a hand-off to third parties.

Before ordering, it is worth confirming with the employer, university or visa centre which exact type of translation they accept and whether the apostille is required before or after translation - this determines the order of steps. We will advise the most practical option for your case, but the final requirements are always set by the institution receiving the document.

Apostille on the certificate (submitted in Kyiv)

An apostille is international certification of a document for countries party to the Hague Convention. A criminal record certificate is apostilled by the relevant Kyiv ministry - for this type of document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (which apostilles its own documents since 2023).
