A Ukrainian birth certificate, diploma or criminal-record extract often needs an apostille from a Ukrainian authority – and that cannot be issued in Slovakia. Our Kharkiv and Kyiv offices file the request directly in Ukraine, the document is apostilled, and the sworn translator then translates it including the apostille clause.

One mismatched letter can bounce your file

Ukrainian Cyrillic has no single mandatory rule for writing names in Latin script, so the same name can look different across sources – say, "Oleksii" on one document and "Alexey" on another. Slovak authorities do not invent their own transliteration: they check the translation against your passport letter by letter, and anything that does not match gets sent back for correction.

That is why we ask for a passport scan before translating and carry its spelling through every document in the series – even ones someone else translated for you elsewhere earlier.
