Sworn Ukrainian Translation in Košice – Online
Of the 6,551 international students at the Technical University of Košice, the largest single group comes from Ukraine – and every diploma, birth certificate or criminal-record extract from home needs a sworn translation into Slovak. At Etalon it is produced by a sworn translator from the Slovak Ministry of Justice register, fully online: you email the scans and we deliver the finished translation by post across eastern Slovakia or electronically. And because we run our own offices in Kharkiv and Kyiv, we also arrange the apostille on the Ukrainian original directly in Ukraine – no trip home, no mailing originals across the border.

- Own offices in Kharkiv and Kyiv: apostille on the Ukrainian original directly in Ukraine

Ukrainian students in Košice: TUKE, UPJŠ and study documents
Košice is a university city with an exceptionally strong Ukrainian community: TUKE has 6,551 international students out of 13,500 in total, with Ukrainians the most numerous among them, and at the UPJŠ Medical Faculty roughly half the students come from abroad, from more than 50 countries. For admission and nostrification we most often translate the school-leaving certificate, the diploma with its supplement, the birth certificate and the criminal-record extract.
The employment set looks different: employers and the foreign police usually ask for a criminal-record extract, qualification documents and work-experience confirmations. With the quote we tell you exactly what your institution requires – and what does not need translating at all.
Apostille on the Ukrainian original – without travelling to Ukraine
A Ukrainian birth certificate, diploma or criminal-record extract often needs an apostille from a Ukrainian authority – and that cannot be issued in Slovakia. Our Kharkiv and Kyiv offices file the request directly in Ukraine, the document is apostilled, and the sworn translator then translates it including the apostille clause.
The whole chain – apostille plus sworn translation – runs as one order, in the right sequence, and you never mail originals across the border.
One mismatched letter can bounce your file
Ukrainian Cyrillic has no single mandatory rule for writing names in Latin script, so the same name can look different across sources – say, "Oleksii" on one document and "Alexey" on another. Slovak authorities do not invent their own transliteration: they check the translation against your passport letter by letter, and anything that does not match gets sent back for correction.
That is why we ask for a passport scan before translating and carry its spelling through every document in the series – even ones someone else translated for you elsewhere earlier.
No Košice office – but delivery across the whole east
We do not have a Košice office yet – Ukrainian documents for eastern Slovakia are handled fully remotely. Email the scans, get the quote within hours, and receive the finished sworn translation by post anywhere in the east or as an electronic sworn translation with a qualified signature (KEP).
A sworn translation is valid throughout Slovakia regardless of where it was produced – the Košice foreign police, registry office, TUKE and UPJŠ accept it just like a translation from a local office.

FAQ
Why Etalon for Ukrainian in Košice?
We are at both ends of the route: a sworn translator from the MS SR register in Slovakia and our own offices in Kharkiv and Kyiv in Ukraine. The translation and the apostille on the Ukrainian original are handled in one order, with no intermediaries.
I am a TUKE or UPJŠ student – which documents will I need?
For admission and nostrification usually the school-leaving certificate or diploma with supplement, the birth certificate and a criminal-record extract. The exact list comes from the study department – send it with your scans and we prepare the whole package at once.
How do you guarantee the correct spelling of my name?
We ask for a passport scan before translating and keep its Latin spelling across all documents in the series. Diverging transliteration is the most common reason an authority returns documents.
You have no office in Košice – how do I get the translation?
By post across eastern Slovakia or as an electronic sworn translation with a qualified signature. A sworn translation is valid across Slovakia regardless of where it was produced.
My document needs an apostille from Ukraine. Can you handle that?
Yes – we file the request through our own Kharkiv or Kyiv office, the document is apostilled directly in Ukraine, and our sworn translator translates it including the apostille clause. You travel nowhere.
How much does a sworn Ukrainian translation cost?
It depends on the document type and length – after seeing the scans we prepare an exact quote within hours. Standard translation from €12 per standard page; apostille on a Ukrainian document from €22.
