In Nitra people search simply for a translation and only learn at the counter that the office wants an úradný, a sworn one. A sworn translation is bound to the document and carries the clause of a translator listed by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic – only that version can be acted upon. A plain professional translation has no clause and exists so the text can be read and used.

The documents Nitra sends us
One rule covers nearly every case: if you hand the document over as proof about yourself or your company – a registry office, the foreign police, a faculty office – it has to be sworn. An employer’s HR department goes by its own practice, so ask them. If only your own team needs to read it, a plain translation is enough. Nitra has two universities of its own – the agricultural one and Constantine the Philosopher University – plus a car plant with its suppliers and a strong food industry, so the mix of jobs runs from study papers to employment papers. What comes in from Nitra is mostly this:
- diplomas and diploma supplements from the Nitra universities, for employers abroad;
- transcripts of records, confirmations of study and of a completed semester, for Erasmus or a transfer;
- Ukrainian school-leaving certificates and their annexes, for admission and recognition of prior study;
- employment contracts, confirmations of employment and payroll documents when joining a plant;
- work instructions, occupational-safety training materials and safety data sheets for production;
- machine manuals, technical standards and equipment test reports;
- veterinary and phytosanitary certificates, quality certificates and food labels.
What else we handle
With Ukrainian papers we run the whole chain – documents from Ukraine for Slovakia means first the apostille on the Ukrainian original, which we file for you in Ukraine itself through our own offices in Kharkiv and Kyiv, and only afterwards the sworn translation into Slovak. The order matters: the apostille belongs on the original document, not on a finished translation.
If you are unsure which type you need, write which institution receives the document and attach a scan. We decide from the recipient whether a plain translation suffices or a bound sworn one is required – the wrong type ordered means a second round and time lost before an enrolment or a start date.
When foreign education is recognised, the diploma alone is rarely accepted – the supplement or the list of completed subjects is asked for too. We prepare the whole set at once, with the same spelling of the name and of the institution on every sheet.
For manufacturing and agri-food companies we translate operational and commercial documentation, proofread Slovak written by a non-native speaker, and interpret online – an interview, a training session, a supplier meeting. We invoice the company.
Why this works without a branch in Nitra
A sworn translation is not tied to the place it was made: the clause of a translator from the MS SR register counts at a Nitra authority and at a faculty office exactly as it does in Bratislava, and an employer who asks for one receives the same document.
