Abroad the extract is generally accepted for 3-6 months from issue, inside Ukraine for about 30 days – the receiving institution sets the exact window, so ordering it far in advance only wastes it. In Dnipro the deadline usually comes from an employer: HR teams in Germany, Poland and Czechia tie the police clearance to a contract start date, consulates to an interview, and local graduates to foreign programme intakes.

The extract and the stamp: free document, 51 UAH apostille, no Kyiv trip
The extract comes from the MIA's unified register free of charge: order it in Diia or at vytiah.mvs.gov.ua (paper applications go through MIA service centres or the administrative-services centre at 58 Starokozatska St. in Dnipro). It usually takes a few working days; the law allows up to 30 – the one stage nobody can accelerate, so it starts first.
Since 2023 the apostille on this document is issued by the MIA itself (Cabinet resolution No. 631, 51 UAH). In-person filing exists only in Kyiv, but Diia bundles the extract and the apostille into one order delivered by Ukrposhta, so Dnipro loses no days to logistics. Translation last – and an honest buffer
The translation is done after the stamp so the apostille appears in it, and a short standard document takes about one to two working days with certification. Poland and Czechia accept a sworn translation by Etalon's own sworn translators; German institutions vary – some take a notarised translation of the apostilled extract, some insist on a translator sworn in Germany – so we confirm the format before starting. Non-Hague destinations need consular legalisation instead.
