Legalization of documents

Legalization of documents of Ukraine for different countries of the world

Ukraine has several types of document legalization — notarial certification, sworn translation, apostille certification and consular legalization. In each particular case, the type of legalization depends much on the country of destination, to the official authorities of which the document shall be submitted. If the two countries concluded an agreement to simplify the legalization procedure, then making notarized or sworn translation will be enough for you. The notarized translation implies that a notary certifies the signature of a translator. Unlike notary, who certifies only a signature of an ordinary translator, the sworn translator certifies the accuracy of translation itself. If the country, to which you plan to move, has joined the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961, and our counties have not concluded an agreement to simplify or annul the legalization procedure, you need to pass the apostille certification procedure. If the state, in which you plan to submit your document, is not a member of the Hague Convention, you will need to pass the consular legalization procedure.
