A sworn translation is not simply text in another language. It is an instrument: the translation is bound to the source document, or to a notarised copy of it, and closed with the translator's clause, a round stamp, a signature and the sequence number entered in the sworn translator's logbook. It must not come apart – a broken ribbon means the instrument has lost its force.
So the choice is made before the order goes in: the original, a notarised copy, or, instead of paper, an electronic sworn translation. Etalon has operated since 2010, keeps no office in Trenčín and runs the whole job remotely.
What we bind for Trenčín most often
What goes inside the set, and how many copies are worth ordering at once, differs by document. The Trenčín region has a make-up of its own: diplomas and transcripts from the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, employment papers for suppliers to the automotive and rubber industries along the Váh, and documents for vehicles imported from the nearby Czech Republic. From the usual jobs:

- contracts and commercial-register extracts – here the electronic form is chosen, and it is not bound at all.
What else we take on
With documents from Ukraine for Slovakia, the order of steps decides everything. The apostille goes on the Ukrainian original first – we file it through our own offices in Kharkiv and Kyiv – and only then is the translation bound. The reverse does not work: a stamp added to an already bound set would mean taking it apart and producing the whole thing again.
An electronic sworn translation is the same act without paper: a single PDF holding the source document and the translation, signed with the translator's qualified electronic signature. The signature replaces the ribbon and the stamp, and it is valid only as a file – a printed page is merely a copy. Before ordering, ask the recipient which form they take.
If the same document is needed in two places at once, say so when you place the order and we will produce two separate sets, each with its own sequence number. Taking one apart and splitting it between two uses is the single route that fails.
When the content changes – a new surname after marriage, a corrected entry, a fresh extract replacing an old one – a finished set is not reworked; a new one is made. We align the spelling of names with the travel document, so the translation does not diverge from the passport.
